Furniture to hide computer
I need to find a really cool piece of furniture to hide my desktop computer from view when I have dinner parties - any ideas?

Try a workstation - the keyboard can then slide away on a shelf and the monitor will be masked by the side boards.Report post

i love the ikea inspired idea of a wardrobe with built-in workstation - shelves arranged to accommodate the computer and files above&below.; then the whole door closes on everything, and you can return the chair to the table.Report post
And best of all, it need only be a single unit, stashed in a corner, and only as deep as your file or computer, so quite discreet! -
ps - have you considered an old-fashioned writing bureau? your laptop can stash in the top drop-down bit and paper in the drawers. there are some really pretty ones around!Report post

ive seen some great gustavian pieces where you just close the double doors and it hides everything away, also if you have an alcove you could get a good carpenter to put in a sliding shelf for your keybordand what ever shelves etc you want, then double doors, can be panelled if you have an older style home and mabye some nice crystal, glass door knobs you can get some great ones from bombay duck ,there on this site, then all you have to do is hide your office chair away.Report post

How about a patterned/wooden screen? They have a lovely one at Graham & Green or there are fretwork ones for a more ethnic look.Alternatively you could make your own using sheets of chipboard and hinges then cover it with fabric to match your decor.Report post
