Well ... that will depend on the room you wish to design (kitchens and bathrooms tend to be more formulaic than say a bedroom or lounge) and the style and impression you wish to create.
If you are looking for tips on how the 3d planner works best can you give us some hints as to what you are finding tricky? ON the other hand if you are looking for some style and design guidance the best route is to open the "ideas" menu (right hand side of the menus above this) and browse the many fantastic ideas from community members. If you like a particular design idea feel free to open the design and explore - the only taboo is republishing a design without changing it and claiming it as your own. Most community members are happy to be asked how they achieved a particular outcome.
