Victorian floorboards
OK I have a nice apartment in a converted Cotton Mill. Problem is that there are gaps between the long Victorian floorboards which have filled up with dirt and hardened! Any clever ways to clean the cracks without spending a fortune or taking all my Xmas holiday time on my hands and knees either!
Cheers,
Stuart

I have looked it up, and sadly, i dont think there is any quick and easy way of doing it. It looks like going down each crack with a flat screwdriver is about the only way to do it...

If you have a boyfriend i suggest sexually bribing him. If not, join a dating website and find someone who specialises in flooring :) Or you could do it yourself, and feel a lot of satisfaction when its all done.

I would suggest some Stop Gap stuff poked down into the gaps, personally I wouldn't want to risk splinters in my hands.

i was watching sarah beanie and she had a really good idea for not too gappy floor boards which i haven't tried but imagine it would be pretty good.
when you are sanding your floor prior to varnishing/ painting etc. you save the sanding remnants then mix this with PVA so it becomes quite thick then use this to fill into the gaps ( but not the huge gaps) the PVA will then dry clear leaving the colour of the floor filling the gaps due to the sanding remnants that were added. quite simple but brilliant!
have a go if its not too gappy and let us know!

ps you would need to get some of the old out prior doing the PVA trick so that it can sit on top
