Get switched on with Tom Dixon kitchen lights

I've developed a minor obsession with this pendant copper light created by the self-taught design maverick Tom Dixon - is anyone else with me on this one?
I'm meeting my kitchen designers tomorrow and am going to ask their advice about how I could incorporate the lights into my design - I"m dreaming up slick visions of three Dixon pendant lights - at differing heights - above my breakfast bar.
Only thing is - will they block out quite a lot of light?
Oh and another... I've just discovered David Cameron has the light in his kitchen - must be Samantha's touch. I hope - otherwise they've just plummeted in the cool stakes.
ANYONE's THOUGHTS?? xx

That's so cool to hear - it can be daunting starting from scratch. I'd love to see a picture of your kitchen - especially the pendant lights! I went to Magnet on Saturday but they don't do painted units so am now looking into John Lewis of Hungerford/ Newcastle Kitchen Co. but they're more expensive!

Love the lights. The copper is quite reflective so they should give a nice bit of sparkle in your kitchen.
I have recently put in a new kitchen myself and have gone all black (both bench and joinery),and my layout is much the same as your proposed one. It works great for me. I have 3 large pendants over my breakfast bar and they don't seem to block out too much light.
Have you decided on a green kitchen then? :)
